Three vehicle thefts were reported in June and July in Hyde Park on the South Side.
In each incident someone parked their vehicle, left the engine running and walked away from it as someone jumped into the vehicle and stole it, Chicago police said.
The thefts happened about 8:10 p.m. June 28 and about 9 p.m. July 14, in the 5000 block of South East End Avenue and about 4:10 p.m. July 12 in the 5300 block of South Cornell Avenue, police said.
