Vehicle thefts reported in Englewood: police

Police are warning Englewood residents of a spate of vehicle thefts reported in recent weeks on the South Side.

In each case, the vehicles were parked on the street when they were stolen, Chicago police said in a community alert.

The thefts happened:

  • Between 5:40 p.m. and 6:47 p.m. Jan. 15 in the 5600 block of South Justine Street;
  • Between 11 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. Jan. 16-17 in the 5700 block of South Laflin Street;
  • At 9 a.m. Jan. 25 in the 5500 block of South Justine Street;
  • Between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Feb. 3-13 in the 5900 block of South Justine Street;
  • At 10:20 p.m. Feb. 15 in the 6200 block of South Laflin Street;
  • At 5 p.m. Feb. 19 in the 5700 block of South Ada Street; and
  • At 8:45 a.m. Feb. 20 in the 6000 block of South Loomis Boulevard.

The suspects were described as males wearing black hooded sweatshirts and face masks.
