This could have ended so much worse. Police were called by passing drivers yesterday evening (Tuesday), who had to avoid a car that had been ditched in a live lane on the M62.
On arrival, police found that the car had lost it's entire wheel while travelling westbound on the motorway between junctions 24 and 25.
The driver was nowhere to be seen. An officer posted pictures of the abandoned car on Twitter following the incident and how lucky it was that passing motorists had got in touch.

This vehicle lost it's wheel whilst travelling westbound between junctions 25 and 24 #M62 unfortunately it ended up straddling a live lane.
