Vehicle hijackings suspects arrested by PSNI TSG officers

Three males have been arrested after a spate of vehicle hijackings in Northern Ireland, police said this morning (Friday, May 19).

The Police Service of Northern Ireland ( PSNI ) said Tactical Support Group (TSG) officers arrested three males after a road traffic collision in the Ards and North Down district. Police say the three males were "suspected of being involved with the recent vehicle hijackings and numerous other offences".

A "quantity" of drugs were also found, following a search, said a spokesperson for Ards and North Down PSNI. All three suspects are now in police custody.

In a brief statement issued in the early hours of this morning, the PSNI spokesperson said: "Tactical Support Group officers responded to a road traffic collision and arrested three males suspected of being involved with the recent vehicle hijackings and numerous other offences.

"A search after arrest uncovered a quantity of drugs. All three in custody."
