A South Side restaurant was damaged when a driver struck a building Monday.

A male was westbound in a gray Ford Expedition about 2:45 a.m. in the 4000 block of East 106th Street when he struck the front entrance area of a food establishment and went through the building, police said.

An employee inside the restaurant was alone and uninjured, police said. The driver of the vehicle drove off and hasn’t been found.

Area South detectives are investigating.
