Projecting win totals at this point of the offseason seems a little futile. Teams hardly have filled out their 90-man offseason rosters. Free agency is still winding down, and the 2019 NFL draft has yet to take place. Rosters are still ever-changing and we don’t quite know what that will look like for the 2019 season.
The lack of offseason clarity hasn’t stopped Sportsbook operator CG Technology from releasing their projections for 2019 NFL win totals. Chiefs fans are certainly going to be happy with their placement.
Here’s how 2019 will go down for each NFL team according to their projections:
Patriots: 11
Chiefs: 10.5
Rams: 10.5
Saints: 10.5
Chargers: 10
Bears: 9.5
Colts: 9.5
Eagles: 9.5
Browns: 9
Packers: 9
Steelers: 9
Vikings: 9
Cowboys: 8.5
Falcons: 8.5
Ravens: 8.5
Seahawks: 8.5
Texans: 8.5
Titans: 8.5
49ers: 8
Jaguars: 8
Panthers: 8
Broncos: 7
Jets: 7
Lions: 7
Bengals: 6
Bills: 6
Buccaneers: 6
Giants: 6
Raiders: 6
Redskins: 6
Cardinals: 5
Dolphins: 5
The Chiefs are getting a ton of respect in these projections after not receiving much for the past decade. After dismantling their defense in the 2019 offseason, many people are quite down on the Chiefs. CG Technologies projections still have them winning 10.5 games this upcoming season though.
I guess having the NFL’s MVP quarterback for the 2018 season certainly helps when it comes to projecting win totals for the future. If you look for a similarity between the top teams in these projections it really comes back to having an established quarterback.
These projections will likely change as NFL rosters continue to evolve this offseason, but the opening win totals for the Chiefs are certainly encouraging.
