Veganuary challenge won't stop nation enjoying favourite snacks without breaking food pledge

Health-conscious Britons will take on the challenge of going Vegan this month January and it's now easy to enjoy a favourite snack without breaking that vow.

Last year a record number of 400,000 people in the UK signed up to take part in Veganuary, with 72 per cent of participants choosing to continue with a plant-based diet beyond January.

With greater availability of vegan foods and alternatives, Veganism is on the rise with the number of vegans and vegetarians expected to make up a quarter of the British population by 2025.

Various snacks are now available in supermarket aisles with long-time favourites suitable for a vegan-friendly diet.

KP’s new Peanut Butter in Crunchy and Smooth is vegan friendly, packed with protein and is even the first stabilised peanut butter on the market that’s made without palm oil. (RRP £3.00 – available at Tesco and Asda)

Tyrrells Vegetable Crisps from the Tyrrells range include Balsamic Vinegar & Sea Salt, Lightly Sea Salted Sweet Potato and Lightly Sea Salted Mixed Root Veg (RRP 90p per 40g).

Penn State Original Salted pretzels are a true classic in the pretzel world. With the multipack bags under 100kcals per pack, Penn State are a delicious low calorie option.

Multipack available to buy at Tesco, Asda, Waitrose and Ocado (RRP £1.70, six pack multipack), and share bag available at all major retailers (RRP £1.79, 175g).

Butterkist microwave popcorn is available at just £2 a packet and is ideal for those with a sweet tooth.

Meanwhile, Kettle Chips offers various vegan-friendly, delicious, hand-cooked crisps in a variety of flavours, including Thai sweet chilli and sea salt with crushed black peppercorn. All products are Gluten-free and contain no artificial colourings or flavours.

Kettle Chips has been producing hand-cooked potato crisps in Norfolk for over 30 years with all potatoes used are British, most from within 30 miles of the factory.
