Vegan steak is being served up at city centre bar Bloc for one weekend only

Is there anything vegans can't do these days?

From vegan munchie boxes to meat-free roll and sausage , culinary creatives across the city are pushing the envelope and doing their damn best to make sure vegans are never left behind when it comes to eating well in Glasgow.

Take Bloc for example. The city centre bar is no stranger to frying up unusual dishes - but we think their latest dish might be their boldest move yet.

To the delight of non-meat eaters everywhere they'll be serving up a vegan option of one of their best selling dishes.

The popular Trash Steak is going to have a vegan makeover this weekend and we're already drooling over the sight of seasoned fries topped with house vegan seitan steak, caramelised onions & peppercorn sauce.

And while the jury is still out on whether it tastes as good as the real thing - we have to say we're tempted to give it a go.

If you're tempted too, you'll have to be quick.  The dish is around for this weekend only.

Could it really come close like the real thing? Answers on a postcard! Or, you know, the comment section will do...
