Greggs has warned that fans of their popular vegan products - including their famous vegan sausage roll - might be in for a disappointment this winter after delivery issues caused their supplies to drop.
Already, shops in London have been affected, with Canary Wharf, Earls Court, Richmond, South Woodford and Twickenham all running out of vegan sausage rolls this week.
The chain has also warned that shortages could soon affect other stores across the UK, blaming "temporary interruptions" to supplies of products, a ccording to Chronicle Live.
"Like others, we're seeing temporary interruptions which are affecting the supply for some of our products," explained a spokesperson for the company. "Our stock levels will vary from day to day but we are working hard to minimise any impact on the availability of our products."
The news comes after Greggs ran out of some menu options in shops in September due to delivery issues caused by lorry driver shortages.
The baker, which was founded in Gosforth in 1939 and now has over 2,000 stores across the UK, has since launched various vegan lines, in response to growing demand for plant-based diets.
The vegan steak bake, which like the sausage roll uses Quorn as a meat substitute, was launched in 2020, followed by the vegan sausage breakfast roll, vegan 'ham' and cheeze baguette and vegan sausage, bean and cheeze melt earlier this year.
Last month, Greggs announced that its popular Festive Bake would be joined by a vegan version this Christmas.
