Tamil actor Ajith Kumar, who was injured during the climax sequence of his latest Tamil film Vedalam, underwent a surgery on his knee and shoulder at a private hospital in Chennai on November 13. Ajith has been walking on crutches post the shoot of the film. The 44-year old actor has been advised nine weeks of total rest post the surgery.
The actor was injured in 2013 too during the shoot of his film Aarrambam and had to undergo a knee surgery.
“This is the second time he will undergo surgery for his knee and shoulder. In 2013, he injured himself while shooting for Tamil film Aarrambam. Since he has been injured in the same area this time, surgery is inevitable,” said a source close to the star.
Vedalam, which also stars Shruti Haasan and directed by Siva, releases worldwide on November 10. The film registered a phenomenal opening garnering Rs 15.5 crore on day one of its release beating the likes of Lingaa and Kaththi and creating a new record in Tamil film industry.
