Revenue and pre-tax profits at Stellantis, the automotive giant behind worldwide brands including Ellesmere Port-based Vauxhall, rocketed during the first half of its financial year as the industry continued its recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Amsterdam-headquartered organisation has reported a net revenue of €72.610bn from continuing operations for the six months, up from the €19.614m during the same period in 2020.
Its pre-tax profits also surged from €876m to €7.127bn over the same period.

Stellantis is a 50:50 joint venture between Italian-American conglomerate Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the French PSA Group.
Its other brands include Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën, Dodge, DS, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati, Mopar, Opel, Peugeot and Ram.
The results come after Stellantis confirmed a £100m investment into its Ellesmere Port plant, securing hundreds of jobs at the huge site.
Around 800 people are directly employed by the Vauxhall plant, known for manufacturing the Astra model.
Chief executive Carlos Tavares said: "I would like to thank warmly all Stellantis employees for their outstanding focus on operational excellence and synergies execution that have led the company to achieve very strong H1 financial results.
"While delivering this strong operational performance the company also made significant progress on strategic matters related to electrification acceleration and software, which are fundamental pillars of our strategy."
