Pound-for-pound great Vasyl Lomachenko is set to head to the UK for the first time to take on British challenger Luke Campbell.
According to the WBC, an agreement has been reached for the pair to clash for their vacant lightweight crown in London on August 31.
Purse bids scheduled for Wednesday have been cancelled as a result of the agreement being reached on Tuesday.
It will be the first time superstar Lomachenko has fought in the UK as a professional having won Olympic gold for the second time at London 2012.
Campbell also won gold in London in a different weight class and will now get a once-in-a-lifetime shot at Lomachenko's WBA and WBO belts as well as the vacant WBC crown.
Campbell's promoter, Eddie Hearn, admitted he did not agree with the WBC decision to order the fight between the pair but he has backed his man to cause a shock.
Campbell had hoped to be ordered to take on another contender for the vacant crown after Mikey Garcia gave up the belt.
Lomachenko, who outclassed Anthony Crolla in America in his last fight, has his sights set on unifying the division and will likely chase a fight for the fourth belt if he sees of Campbell in August.
Hull-born Campbell failed in his previous world title attempt as he lost a close points decision to Jorge Linares for the WBA belt in September 2017.
He has responded with three straight wins, whilst Lomachenko, 31, has built up a 13-1 record since being defeated in a close split decision to Orlando Salido as he went for a world title in just his second professional fight.
Another world title fight between WBC flyweight king Charlie Edwards and Mexican ace Julio Cesar Martinez is also expected to feature on the undercard.
