Varun Dhawan Opens Up About ‘Border 2’ Journey Amid Trolling Ahead of Release

Ahead of the film’s release, Varun took to Instagram to share a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from the shoot and reflected on his intense experience working on the project over the last few years. In Border 2, Varun essays the role of Major Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya.

One of the pictures shows Varun posing with his co-stars Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, while another captures him in character—injured yet resolute—staring ahead with determination. Accompanying the photos, Varun penned an emotional note about the film and its impact on him.

“A battle #Border2. A film that really pushed me to my limits,” he wrote. “An experience which so many people helped me get through. It changed me for good. Injuries, personal life changes and submitting to the craft—can’t wait for everyone to watch this film tomorrow.” He also mentioned that he was sharing one of his favourite background music pieces from the film.

Earlier, at the film’s pre-release event, Varun addressed the trolling and made it clear that he remains unfazed by the criticism. Emphasising his faith in the film, the actor said he prefers to let his work speak for itself. “I believe that you shut down the noise and just let your work do the talking. Yeh sab cheezein chalti rehti hai. It doesn’t really matter. What I work for, you will get to know this Friday,” he said.

Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the sequel to J.P. Dutta’s iconic 1997 war film Border. The film boasts a strong ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Anya Singh, Medha Rana and Mona Singh. Set against the backdrop of the 1971 India–Pakistan war, the film is slated to release in theatres on January 23.
