Varjak Paw, a little kitten, lives with his family of Mesoptamian Blues in the Contessa's house but when the Contessa disappears and a horrible Gentleman takes over, life gets harder for Varjak. He is sent outside to find a dog to help him defeat the Gentleman and save his family. Varjak learns some skills on the way and makes some friends outside. When Varjak finds out what the man is doing, he is horrified!
The end of the book is really exciting and quite frightening – you'll have to read it yourself to find out what happens! This is a brilliant adventure book.
