VARANASI: Crime branch of Varanasi police commissionerate succeeded in arresting Rs 300 crore financial scam’s mastermind Arunesh Sita from Lucknow while his close aide Bal Chand Chaurasia was nabbed from Ballia.
Running his firm in the name of "Indus Ware Company", Sita had ensured depositing of Rs 300 crore from innocent investors of UP, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi and other states. He had produced films in Bhojpuri and other languages apart from buying immovable properties in many cities.
Commissioner of police A Satish Ganesh on Sunday said, "Sita and Chaurasia had been produced before the court after bringing here on Sunday and sent to jail. Till Sunday afternoon police had succeeded in collecting details of 14 cases of cheating, fraudulent and criminal conspiracy lodged against the duo with police in Varanasi, Robertsganj, Kushinagar of UP, economic offence wing Delhi, Patna and Sivan in Bihar, Riva, Singrauli and Jabalpur of MP."
A total of 15 pan cards, eight ATM cards, one Adhar card, 20 cheque books, three stamps and two mobile phones were recovered from Sita while similar articles were also recovered from Chaurasia.
