VARANASI: Under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the department of posts will supply national flag to every home. Postmaster general of Varanasi region, Krishna Kumar Yadav said the national flag will be available for sale in all head post offices from August 1. Soon it will be available at other post offices also.
Yadav said that department of posts has been entrusted with the responsibility to utilize its vast reach and manpower present in each and every corner of the country to inform citizens about the importance of this campaign through a comprehensive outreach campaign. Accordingly, postal officials would also motivate their families and people around them to join this campaign and hoist the national flag.
He said that on the occasion of 75th Independence Day, a selfie point (philately frame of national flag along with postage stamps and special covers issued on the freedom struggle) in every head post office will also be installed. Public will be encouraged to take selfies at this selfie point and share them on social media handles of India Post and Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav tagging #Indiapost4Tiranga and #HarGharTiranga. Along with the campaign on social media, Prabhat Pheri will also be organized with the participation of postal workers and local citizens, said Yadav.
