'VAR is killing the sport' - Chelsea fans rage after Cesar Azpilicueta's goal vs Ajax ruled out

Chelsea fans have taken to social media to criticise VAR after their side drew 4-4 with Ajax in a pulsating game at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues trailed 4-1 in the second half, but produced a stunning comeback to score three unanswered goals and snatch a point.

Frank Lampard's side thought they had scored a late winner through Cesar Azplicueta to seal all three points, but VAR ruled that there was a handball in the build-up to the goal.

The game started badly for Chelsea when Tammy Abraham put through his own net after only two minutes, but Jorginho quickly equalised three minutes later from the penalty spot.

Quincy Promes and an own goal from Kepa gave the Dutch champions a 3-1 lead and Donny van de Beek added another after half time.

But Chelsea were not to be denied and Azpilicueta pulled one back with just under half an hour remaining.

Daley Blind was sent off for a second yellow card, before Joel Veltman conceded a penalty and was also shown his marching orders for handball. Jorginho made no mistake from the spot for his second of the night.

Substitute Reece James smashed an equaliser after Kurt Zouma had hit the bar from a corner, and it looked as if Chelsea would go on to complete a famous win.

But Azpilicueta's goal was ruled out, and the Blues had to settle for a draw, which leaves them level with Valencia and Ajax on seven points.

This is how Chelsea fans reacted on social media.
