A south Liverpool vape shop was "gutted" by a late-night fire in the flat above it.
Merseyside Police and fire service crews attended the scene on Belgrave Road, just off Aigburth Road in Aigburth, shortly before midnight on Friday. Six fire engines tackled the blaze through the night, as the road was sealed off by police.
The landlord of the building confirmed to the ECHO at the scene that no one had been injured in the fire, and that the occupants of the flat were currently away.

One witness described the vape shop beneath the flat as being "gutted" by the fire. They said: "I feel for the people who own the shop because it seems like it's been gutted, emergency services were cutting the shutter off the shop and smashing the glass to get access. The main thing is that no one was hurt and everyone is okay."
A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "We were first alerted to a flat fire above a shop at 11.30pm and initially sent two fire engines, after an additional request we despatched six fire engines to the scene.
"The fire was under control by morning and as of 10am there is one fire crew still at the scene. There are no injuries currently reported."
