Vanessa Hudgens has been spotted in Midlothian as the filming for the third instalment of the Princess Switch series resumes.
The former High School Musical star was seen sporting a ‘lovely pink hat’ as the crew shot scenes at Newbattle Abbey College near Dalkeith this morning.
It is expected that the 32-year-old will head to Edinburgh’s Hopetoun House in South Queensferry later in the day.
The venue was used to recreate the stunning Montenaro Castle in the second film, which was released on Netflix in November last year.
A source told the Daily Record : “The location of filming right now is Newbattle Abbey College and I can confirm that Vanessa Hudgens is also here.
“The location after this is Hopetoun House. The grounds of Newbattle Abbey College have been taken over by crew.
“The crew have been here since before Christmas but started filming on Thursday.
“It was a bit of a shock that I saw Vanessa but she was sporting a lovely pink hat you would see at weddings.”
The former Disney actress jetted into Scotland from California last month and is expected to remain here until the end of January.
Scenes for the Princess Switch 3 have been filmed across Glasgow and Edinburgh in recent weeks.
Vanessa took a shine to Scotland when she filmed across the country for The Princess Switch: Switched Again in late 2019 and early 2020.
She revealed that she was “obsessed” with the country but found Edinburgh particularly hard to pronounce.
The star hoped to celebrate her birthday in Scotland, but was forced to cancel due to tough coronavirus restrictions.
The Princess Switch 3 is expected to release on Netflix around Christmas in 2021.
