Vanessa Feltz has lent her support to Alice Evans as she speaks out about the breakdown of her marriage to Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd.
Alice and Ioan announced their shock split earlier this year, after the actor filed for divorce during which Alice claimed he was having an affair.
The actress has taken to Instagram and Twitter to vent her frustration over the separation and recently shared a picture of herself and Ioan with the caption: “Oops! This came up when I was going through old photos. No offence to the ‘New Girlfriend’".
Vanessa, who is herself divorced, says she understands why the actress feels the need to share her feelings about her estranged husband's new relationship with Bianca Wallace, 29.
Writing in her Closer! column, she said said: "I think she has every right to share her heartbreak. I can relate to Alice as I've had a marriage breakdown. Mine was because my husband had an affair.
"We don't know both sides of the story in Alice and Ioan's case or if he cheated. But he has moved on with another woman and that's just as heartbreaking."
"It's a completely natural impulse to want to pour out your feelings and not want to feel alone. Yes it may be dirty laundry, but its hers. Why wouldn't she share it, and why shouldn't she?"
Vanessa opened up about her marriage to ex-husband Michael Kurer earlier this year on This Morning.
During a phone-in about holding grudges she revealed: "I remember saying to my now ex-husband, ‘do I look fat?’ and he said to me, 'well how much do you weigh? However much you weigh that’s how fat you are'.
"And it absolutely cut me to the quick," Vanessa said.
"I wanted him to say, 'you look gorgeous, I find you irresistible', he didn’t. He didn’t say anything nice or kind like that or reassuring."
Vanessa was married to Michael Kurer from 1983 until 2000, and they share two daughters, Allegra and Saskia.
Following their divorce, she later became engaged to Phats and Small singer Ben Ofoedu in December 2006.
However last year, Vanessa has opened up about the moment she found out about Michael's alleged infidelity.
Speaking on This Morning in October 2020, she said: "My husband had left and I had no idea why. I just didn’t understand what was going on at all and then I had a call from a journalist and the message was left on the answerphone.
"I walked into the kitchen with my two little girls, played the answerphone message and the message was, 'We are aware that your husband is having an affair, please call me back'."
