Vanessa Feltz shares 'the truth' as she hits back at Eamonn Holmes and Dr Ranj Singh's 'toxic' claims

Vanessa Feltz has publicly issued her support for the This Morning team, including Holly Willoughby, in the midst of the ITV scandal that has seen Phillip Schofield quit the show. The 61-year-old, who regularly appears on the flagship programme, described how she was “absolutely devastated” by the whole situation, which has seen Phillip admit to lying to his former colleagues over an affair with a younger male production runner.

In an interview with OK! Magazine Vanessa said: “I’ve always been good friends with Holly and Phil, I’ve been on that show for years and years. I just feel very sorry for anybody who’s been hurt or implicated in what’s happened. I hope the show will continue. I love the programme, the content, the fashion, the cooking. Every time I appear on it, which is twice a week for years, I always find myself watching the next item. I’ve always been a fan of it, so it’s lovely to be on a show that you love and enjoy.”

She added: “I’d be very, very sad if the show were to come to an end. I think it would be a shame and I also don’t think it would be necessary to do that.”

Vanessa then hit back at allegations from Eamonn Holmes and Dr Ranj Singh that the show was "toxic" behind-the-scenes. She said: “I’ve never seen anything toxic in my life – and that’s the truth! I’ve never seen, heard anything! Anything other than just nice people being nice. I’m not just saying that. I would tell the truth. Even last week, or the week before, I didn’t see anything.

"It’s come as a big shock to me and I think to lots of contributors. People who say, ‘Everyone knew’ – it’s not true. It’s absolute rubbish!” This Morning airs on ITV1 and ITVX on weekdays from 10am. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
