Vanessa Feltz was fuming when an etiquette expert gave a blistering takedown of her Christmas tree.
William Hanson appeared on ITV's This Morning with Holly Willougby and Phillip Schofield to rate the Christmas trees of callers and Vanessa wanted his opinion on hers.
In her North London home she has a pink tree with silver tinsel, huge baubles, and a white angel teddy bear on one of the branches.
And William wasn't impressed, comparing her tree to candyfloss.
When she came on-screen, Vanessa had asked if she would be "condemned to the outer regions of the socially unacceptable" because of her Christmas decorations.
William told her: "Vanessa, I mean it looks like a piece of candyfloss that you've dropped at a Little Mix concert."
"Is that bad?" she giggled. "I thought that was a compliment."
He added: "Yes, but you do you."
Vanessa said: "Isn't that what it's all about? It's about giving thanks in your own way."
William prefers real trees to fake ones, but said if you have to get an artificial tree it should be green as "trees are not silver, generally".
He called the baubles "disracting" but Vanessa joked "over the years people have complimented me on my large baubles."
"They are lovely," he giggled, rolling his eyes.
He described his perfect Christmas tree, which is real with white lights, baubles in colours in the same tone and a traditional star on the top.
"Boring!" Vanessa interrupted him.
He told her that "less is more" but she replied: "Not at Christmas!"
