Vanessa Feltz loses three stone after spending all her wedding money on surgery

Vanessa Feltz, 57, has lost a massive three stone after undergoing a five-hour gastric by-pass operation.

She had an old gastric band removed at the same time as the new surgery, which has been an incredible success.

However, Vanessa has admitted that she's had to postpone her wedding to fiance Ben Ofoedu as she spent all their savings on the surgery.

She told OK! magazine: "I’ve lost three stone – it feels too good to be true.

"I can’t tell you how good it feels to fit into a pair of skinny jeans."

Vanessa is now back to full health and is delighted with her weight loss, but she's going to have to start saving up for her wedding again.

She added: "We’re saving up – I spent all the money on a gastric band that didn’t even work!"

Vanessa has been engaged to singer Ben since 2006.

The telly star had a gastric band fitted in 2010, but it led to her developing a nasty condition called gastroesophageal reflux.

It made her eyes, ears, nose and mouth feel like they were full of liquid.

Vanessa recently revealed the gastric band had slipped, leaving her in need of an urgent operation to correct the problem.

But during the operation, it was discovered that the slipped band had embedded itself in Vanessa’s liver.

While they managed to remove the band, Vanessa explained how it had to “be carefully dissected” which “took time”, and led to complications.

Vanessa spent some time in intensive care leaving her family very worried for her, but she was still able to undergo the bypass.
