Vanessa Feltz compares herself to Hancock's wife and says kiss pics triggered her

Vanessa Feltz compared herself to Martha Hancock as she appeared on Monday's This Morning to discuss infidelity.

Vanessa appeared live in the ITV studio alongside journalist Rosie Green to speak about the photos of Matt Hancock and Gina Coladangelo that were released last week.

The CCTV image and video clip showed the married politician kissing his millionaire lobbyist aide, who is also married.

This Morning host Holly Willoughby was keen to speak to Vanessa about her own experience of being cheated on, and asked if the photos were triggering.

"Very, very much so. I was in a situation exactly the same as Martha Hancock," Vanessa replied.

"I think she thought she was happily married, I believe she didn’t think there were any problems in her marriage, and then she found out in a newspaper and that’s exactly what happened to me."

Vanessa sadly found out her husband Michael Kurer was cheating on her when she received a phone call from a journalist.

"I thought I was one of the lucky ones, thought I had a lovely marriage actually and I was incredibly grateful for it. And then I got this phone call on my answer phone and it was a columnist saying, ‘Vanessa please sit down'," she explained.

"My whole life just collapsed and shattered into a million pieces. It was absolutely astounding, 21 years later and I can barely even describe to you the shock of it," Vanessa continued.

"I said to the girls, they were 10 and 13, I said, 'do not worry, this is definitely a mistake. I will ring your father and I'm sure he will tell us everything is alright'. And I did, and he denied everything.

"And then about 10 minutes later, he phoned back and said, 'yes we are lovers'. And that was that and then nothing ever is the same again."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
