Vanessa Bryant slams Meek Mill's 'insensitive and disrespectful' lyric about Kobe's death

Vanessa Bryant has called out rapper Meek Mill over his "extremely insensitive and disrespectful" lyric about her late husband Kobe Bryant 's death.

The mum-of-four suffered unimaginable heartbreak last year when her LA Lakers star husband Kobe and their daughter Gigi, 13, were killed in a helicopter crash on January 26.

Since the tragedy, Vanessa has won huge respect and support from fans as she remains strong for her daughters Bianka, Capri and Natalia and keeps Kobe's memory alive.

However the heartbroken widow was left shocked at the musician's distasteful song lyric which mentioned the way in which Kobe and Gianna died.

Following an outcry on social media over the weekend, Vanessa rushed to her Instagram Story to hit out at the Grammy-nominated rapper, 33, about an unreleased song with rapper Lil Baby that leaked online.

Allegedly titled Don't Worry (RIP Kobe), the rap song features line: "Yeah, and if I ever lack, I'm goin' out with my chopper, it be another Kobe."

Vanessa last month marked a whole year since Kobe and Gianna's tragic death, and asked everyone to be respectful over the way in which they passed.

But after hearing the blunt song lyric, Vanessa wrote on Instagram: "Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period.

"I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there's a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact."

Soon after being called out by Vanessa, Meek wrote on Twitter : "I'm going back savage in this s*** ... f#%k ya feelings!"

After fans slammed the rapper for his lack of empathy, Meek returned to Twitter to update fans on the situation.

"I apologised to her in private earlier today not to the public...Nothing I say on my page directed to a internet viral moment or the family of a grieving woman!

"If you care about someone grieving change the subject!"

Kobe and Gigi were two of nine people to be killed when their helicopter crashed in Calabasas.

The others killed in the horror crash included 13-year-old Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, 46, 14-year-old Alyssa Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, 46, John Altobelli, 56, Christina Mauser, 38, and 50-year-old pilot Ara Zobayan.

The group were travelling near Calabasas, Los Angeles when the chopper crashed into a hillside during heavy fog.
