Vanderbilt (1-4) vs. UNLV (1-4) Game Preview
Why Vanderbilt Will Win
UNLV continues to be a hot mess.
The Rebel offense can’t find anything that consistently works, it hasn’t been able to score more than 17 points in any of the last four games, and there’s nothing to rely on week after week.
The O can’t convert on third downs, the running game has hit a wall, and the defense isn’t good enough to pick up the slack.
No, Vanderbilt isn’t reinventing the offensive wheel, but it’s not turning the ball over, and running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn has been just good enough to rely on as a potential workhorse against the struggling Rebel run D.
Vanderbilt should be able to control the clock and the game.

Why UNLV Will Win
Vanderbilt continues to be a hot mess.
Getting rolled by Georgia and LSU is one thing, but struggling against a bad Northern Illinois team is a problem, and not being able to do a thing against Ole Miss and it’s running game is a huge concern.
The line isn’t doing enough to get into the backfield – it should bring a whole lot of pressure on the Rebel runners – and UNLV has pieces overdue to break out.
Speedy RB Charles Williams was a 140-yard rushing machine over the first three games, but he was banged up and held in check against Wyoming and Boise State. The Rebels won’t hit the 413-yard mark on the ground that Ole Miss did last week, but they should be able to get to the second level enough to come up with a few big gashes.

What’s Going To Happen
This had better be Vanderbilt’s big moment to finally get a really, really easy win.
The Commodore offense is sputtering and struggling way too much to do anything right, but it’ll get decent field position and plenty of short fields to capitalize on. UNLV’s offensive line is having way too many issues, and Vandy will take advantage of it.
