Vanderbilt RB Ke’Shawn Vaughn calls Titans ‘a good situation’

The Tennessee Titans could very well be in the hunt for a running back in the 2020 NFL Draft — whether they have Derrick Henry back on the roster or not in the coming season.

One option they have is Vanderbilt Commodores rusher Ke’Shawn Vaughn, who has enjoyed playing out his college career in the city of Nashville, and wouldn’t mind taking things to next level in the same area.

“I feel like that would be a good situation… if I go to the Titans,” Vaughn said. “I know I’d be going to the No. 2 back. Him (Henry) getting thirty, forty carries, however many they give him, he’s kind of wearing down the defense and so you got me, who’s an explosive back… I can come in and capitalize on the defense being tired…”

He thinks the combo would make for a good 1-2 punch.

Vaughn, projected to be a third or fourth-round selection, was a key piece of Vanderbilt’s ground game.

In two seasons with the Commodores, Vaughn racked up 2,272 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns. He also had 41 receptions for 440 yards and three scores.

He would have like to have had a better Senior Bowl though, not able to showcase his explosiveness as he wasn’t a full participant in all practices.

If the Titans indeed do decide to go for a rusher to back Henry, Vaughn is certainly an option in April.
