Vanderbilt, Jerry Stackhouse to Part Ways After Season, per Report

Vanderbilt is expected to part ways with head coach Jerry Stackhouse, CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reports.

Stackhouse, the former 18-year NBA veteran, has coached the Commodores since 2019, spending five full seasons at the helm. Under Stackhouse, Vanderbilt failed to make the NCAA tournament and went 70–92 overall and 28–60 in SEC play.

Last season, Vanderbilt had its best year with Stackhouse, accumulating a 22–15 record for its second straight winning season. This year, however, the Commodores took a major step back, going 9–23 in the program’s worst season under Stackhouse.

Jerry Stackhouse is not expected to return as Vanderbilt's head coach.

The news comes after Vanderbilt fell to Arkansas on Wednesday in the opening round of the SEC tournament, 90–85.

The Commodores last made the NCAA tournament in 2017, and haven’t made it to the second weekend of March Madness since 2007.
