Vandals trash city centre bar Tabac during overnight break in

A popular city centre has shared its heartache after vandals smashed its windows in an overnight break in.

The incident occurred last night when thugs shattered the windows of Tabac in Mitchell Lane.

Tabac's owners say this is the second time the bar has been targeted since lockdown began.

Tabac bosses told Glasgow Live: "Last time the climbed the front door fence and broke the door and another door inside.

"The doors have all been boarded up so they went for the window this time."

In a Facebook post, Tabac owners slammed the thugs for "kicking a business while they are down".

The post reads: "Second break in since start of lockdown. Talk about kicking a business while they are down.

"We have put signs to let people know that all cash and stock have been removed from the premises yet they still break in(and leave with nothing).

"We on the other hand get left with a broken window and huge bill to pay while generating 0 money."

Police Scotland said: "Around 10am on Sunday, 7 June, 2020, police were made aware of damage to a window at a business premises in Mitchell Lane, Glasgow.

"Enquiries are ongoing to trace those involved."
