Vandals smash up priest's car at St James Parish Church in Crookston

Vandals have smashed up a car belonging to the Priest of a Catholic Church in Glasgow's south side on Saturday evening (February 6).

St. James the Great Parish Church in Crookston uploaded pictures of the wrecked car, with the windscreen totally smashed in.

The car's wing mirrors are also severely damaged.

Police say the car was parked in a garage on Beltrees Road, Crookston.

Admins on the Church Facebook group wrote: "Latest vandalism at St James the Great church Beltrees Road priests car."

They added: "Saturday night 9:40pm 2-3 youths.

The wing mirrors were damaged (Facebook.com/SJTGParish)

"One possibly with light sleeves maybe wearing a dark body warmer or similar. CCTV to follow."

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told Glasgow Live: " Officers were called at 11.30pm to reports of vandalism to silver Mercedes parked in a garage on Beltrees Road, Crookston.

"Enquiries are continuing."
