A school bus transporting children with additional learning needs has been broken into and vandalised in Co Down.
Staff at Killard House School, Donaghadee, say they were deeply disappointed to discover the damage - and revealed it is not the first time.
One of the adapted Education Authority buses will need major repairs after the doors were forced open and parts of the interior smashed up, including seating.
Principal of Killard, Colin Millar and staff teach around 220 pupils with a range of additional learning needs from the age of three to 18.
They provide for children and young people within Social Communication Units, Primary Moderate Learning Difficulties and Post Primary MLD classes including a Post 16 Sixth Form.
And the highly trained and experienced Killard House staff create a safe and supportive learning environment, which includes transport to and from school for many pupils.
A spokesperson for the school said: "We are so disappointed and upset to see that yet again one of our EA school buses has been broken into and vandalised for no reason.
"The PSNI have been out taking forensics and we are hoping this won’t happen again.
"We are trying to prepare for getting our pupils safely back to school in the new school year and this is just another thing to deal with.
"Our local community is always so supportive so we would ask that they spread the word and hopefully no one feels the need to do this senseless damage again. Together we can."
