Van seized from driver who was over twice the limit

A male driver is in custody after registering 72 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath this evening.

The legal limit is 35 micrograms.

Greater Manchester Police traffic officers pulled the driver over on Old Lane, Little Hulton earlier, who was travelling in a Ford Transit van, which has now been seized.

The force also revealed that when checking the driver's licence status they found his PLH had expired in 1980.
