A vehicle has been seized amid reports of fireworks being thrown at members of the public in Liverpool. Police said a white Toyota Proace van had been seized after receiving reports that its occupants had been launching fireworks at pedestrians.
Merseyside Police said they stopped the van and its driver had been "dealt with". They said the vehicle was seized on suspicion of "being used in crime".
The fireworks had reportedly been thrown at members of the public in the Vauxhall area of the city. Merseyside Police's Roads Policing Unit posted a picture of the van stopped at traffic lights in snowy weather from its official Twitter account at 1.40am on Tuesday.

The post read: "Reports in the Vauxhall area of the occupants of this vehicle throwing fireworks at members of the public. Vehicle stopped, driver dealt with and vehicle seized for being used in crime."
Police also added added a hash tag that read: "Play stupid games, win stupid prizes".
