Van overturns on main road in Bolton after crash

Emergency services were scrambled to a main road in Bolton after a van and a skip wagon were involved in a crash.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were all called to Tonge Moor Road at around 11.20am this morning (Friday).

The collision caused a white van to flip onto its side.

Tonge Moor Road was closed for more than an hour.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) told people to avoid the area while they dealt with the incident.

Nobody was hurt.

A spokesman for the Bolton North division wrote on social media: "Tonge Moor Rd is currently blocked due to an RTC.

"Crews used a specialist winch to put the van back on four wheels for recovery by ⁦GMP."

A North West Ambulance Spokesman added: "We received a call about at 11:19 today to attend a serious RTC on Tonge Moor Road.

"We sent an ambulance and rapid response vehicle to scene."
