The van of a missing man has been found in Perthshire.
Police officers are appealing for help in trying to trace 39-year-old Ian Fowler from Kilmarnock.
Ian left his home in Ayrshire this morning (Thursday, October 31) but did not arrive at work.
His van has since been found in the car park at Killiecrankie Visitor Centre in Highland Perthshire.
Officers have launched a search for the man, including using a police helicopter, and say he has been dealing with “personal issues” recently.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland’s Tayside division said: “Officers are appealing for assistance from the public and the media in trying to locate a 39-year-old man missing from Ayrshire.
“Ian Fowler left his home in Kilmarnock around 6am this morning [Thursday].
“He got into his van and was expected to drive to work.
“When he didn’t arrive, his colleagues contacted his family and he was reported missing to the police.
“Ian is white, around 5ft 8 inches in height, with blue jeans and a hi-vis jacket.
“His van has been discovered in the car park in Killiecrankie Visitor Centre and officers are carrying out enquiries in that area in an effort to locate Ian.
“Members of the public will see a significant police presence in that area as officers try to find Ian.
“The police helicopter is also being used in the search.
“Ian has been dealing with some personal issues recently and concern is growing for his welfare.
“If anyone has seen Ian or who has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts, please call 101 quoting incident number 0851 of October 31 2019.”
