Although it is the "world's most visited immersive multi-sensory sensory experience", you may be unfamiliar with what makes it so unique.

Here is everything you need to know about Van Gogh Alive in Edinburgh, including how to book tickets.

What is Van Gogh Alive Edinburgh?

Van Gogh Alive is a multimedia experience that allows visitors to lose themselves in the work of the iconic Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh.

Unlike traditional galleries and art exhibitions, Van Gogh Alive is fully immersive - meaning the public are able to interact with the artist's work in new and groundbreaking ways.

According to the official Van Gogh Alive website: "From start to finish, visitors are surrounded by a vibrant symphony of light, colour, sound and fragrance as they wander around the exhibition and absorb it from every possible angle.

"Van Gogh’s masterpieces come to life, giving visitors the sensation of walking right into his paintings, a feeling that is simultaneously enchanting, entertaining and educational."

The multimedia exhibition is recommended for both adults and children.
