A man has been left shaken after he was forced into the back of his van by masked men armed with a suspected firearm.
Officers say a 25-year-old man was driving along the Ballmiscaw Road, Craigantlet in a van when he was stopped by a masked man armed with a suspected firearm close to junction of Ballyregan Road.
During the incident on Tuesday, May 21 at around 6pm a second man then approached the vehicle and the driver was forced into the rear of the van.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "The two males then got into the front and drove off. The males stopped the van on the Ballybarnes Road close to its junction with Ballysallagh Road and made off in another vehicle believed to be driven by a third accomplice leaving the man in the rear of the van.
"The man was not injured but left shaken by his ordeal."
Detective Constable Dickson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives in Bangor on 101, quoting reference number 1681 25/05/19.
Detectives are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was travelling on the Ballymiscaw Road or Ballybarnes Road on Tuesday evening and saw a small white Ford Connect van in the area.
