The collision happened on Monday, June 8 on the A487 in the village of Pentregat in Ceredigion.

Police and paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 4.40pm, and a Wales Air Ambulance helicopter also landed nearby

The road was closed in both directions for several hours and, despite the efforts of the emergency services, the driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dyfed-Powys Police is now appealing for information about the cause of the fatal crash.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “Police are investigating a fatal collision between a van and a lorry in Ceredigion.

“Tragically, the driver of the van – a 38-year-old man – died at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with his family at this time, and specialist support has been made available.”

Anyone who has any information regarding the crash is asked to contact Dyfed-Powys Ppolice either by calling 101, e-mailing them at contactcentre@dyfed-powys.pnn.police.uk or by contacting them online.
