Van de Beek and Solskjaer's full-time exchange speaks volumes about Man Utd midfielder

If Donny van de Beek is frustrated by his current situation then he's certainly not showing it.

His place on the bench against Fulham marked the sixth straight time the Dutchman has been named outside of the starting XI in the Premier League. And he's failed to get on the pitch and play in any of them.

Van de Beek's playing time has been limited so much that he's even been urged to leave the club by various pundits, even though he arrived from Ajax just last summer.

Despite playing zero minutes of late, though, Van de Beek appears to have no qualms with boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

When the final whistle blew after United's win over Fulham - which returned them to the top of league - Van de Beek and Solskjaer high-fived each other.

If the Dutchman was that frustrated by his lack of playing time he's not showing it.

It also speaks volumes about the talented midfielder, who is rising above his struggles to be professional and acknowledge how important the three points against Fulham were.

Former United goalkeeper and Ajax chief Edwin van der Sar, who played a key role in Van de Beek moving to United, recently spoke about his star student and gave an encouraging inside view.

"I do talk to a lot of people at the club,” He said.

"[He has a] fantastic attitude, he does well in training.

"It [sealing a spot in the Manchester United midfield] is difficult.

"Pogba is coming back, Fernandes is very important, [Nemanja] Matic and McTominay, are also there.

"It’s no shame at all, it’s also a big club, isn’t it?

"Of course, it’s a large amount [Van de Beek’s £40.5m transfer fee], but they are confident that he will get there."
