Van de Beek and Cavani start - Manchester United line up fans want to see vs Southampton

Manchester United fans want to see Donny van de Beek and Edinson Cavani retain their places in the starting XI for today's Premier League meeting with Southampton.

Both summer signings impressed during the midweek victory over Istanbul Basaksehir in the Champions League but have found game time limited in the league.

United have a decent record at St. Mary's having not lost any of their last nine Premier League away games at Southampton, with their last league defeat there coming in 2003.

MEN Sport writers gave their verdict on who Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should select and asked supporters to have their say too.

Dean Henderson was overlooked for the win against Basaksehir and fans believe David de Gea should keep his place between the sticks.

The defence also remains unchanged with Luke Shaw still out injured though Victor Lindelof and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are set to undergo late fitness tests.

United fans want Van de Beek to partner Fred in midfield behind the talismanic Bruno Fernandes. The Brazilian has been in inspired form this season and is preferred to Nemanja Matic. Both Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba are set to miss out due to injury.

Cavani impressed supporters with his work-rate in mid-week and the Uruguayan has been backed to make his first league start, with Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford operating in the wide positions.

United XI fans want to see vs Southampton: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Telles; Van de Beek, Fred, Fernandes; Rashford, Martial, Cavani.
