Cops are hunting firebugs who torched a van and a digger outside a Scots tower block in a deliberate attack.
Shocked residents of Lennox View, in Radnor Street, Clydebank, watched as the flames took hold on the vehicles between 10pm and 10.30pm last night.
Police say the blazes were started deliberately and have launched a probe saying it was 'fortunate' nobody was hurt.
Dramatic pictures today show white smoke filling the air by the high rise as emergency crews tackle the flames.
Detective Constable Thomas O’Donnell, of Clydebank CID, said: “These vehicles were deliberately set on fire and it is fortunate that no one was injured. We are treating them as wilful.
“As part of our investigation we would like to speak to anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time, including any drivers who have dash-cam footage that could assist with our enquiries.
“If you can help please call us on 101, quoting incident number 4081 of Thursday, 15 July, or make a call anonymously to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
