Valentino Lazaro's agent is in Bologna as Newcastle United wait on a decision from the Inter Milan winger.
Max Hagmayr visited St James' Park on Saturday and was seen talking to some of the players before kick-off before taking in United's 1-0 victory over Chelsea.
On Monday, Steve Bruce urged caution over the deal - and pictures then emerged in Italian media of Hagmayr reportedly speaking to representatives of RB Leipzig in Milan.
Hagmayr then spent Tuesday in Bologna, using his social media to show his presence at the club's stadium - as he did on Saturday while on Tyneside.
His reason for being at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara is unknown but Hagmyr was quoted as saying: "I was in Newcastle and we had talks, but there is no agreement yet.
"As for the future, we'll see what happens over the next few days.
"There isn't just Newcastle, he has other options."
Newcastle completed their first signing of the January window - welcoming former Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb on loan until the end of the season.
