Valentine's Day: President Obama recites love poem to the First Lady

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching it seems everyone is getting in the romantic mood, and the President of the United States is no exception.

President Barack Obama appeared on The Ellen Show on Friday and took the opportunity to recite a poem to his wife Michelle.

After watching a video message from the First Lady who mentioned it would be their “last Valentine’s Day in the White House”, Obama stood in front of a red velvet curtain, to the background music of Barry White.

Gems from the poem include: “Somebody call the situation room because things are about to get hot”, and, “I Obamacare about you more than you know”.

The 54-year-old's message then turned serious and heartfelt: “Michelle I’ve made a lot of great decisions while President, the best decision I’ve ever made was choosing you. Thanks for putting up with me, I love you,” he said to camera.

Elsewhere in the programme, Obama was asked by DeGeneres what the couple argue about.

“After about 15 years I finally figured out that she’s always right. So then surprisingly, we just stopped fighting,” he answered.
