The watermark continues to rise on Lake Macquarie with the $4 million auction sale of a Valentine property last weekend.
Belle Property Lake Macquarie's Anthony Di Nardo took the four-bedroom home at 117 Dilkera Avenue to auction with a guide of $3.1 million. There were four registered bidders, including Sydney buyers, but the property was secured under the hammer by a local purchaser.
According to Australian Property Monitors data, it is the first time a Valentine property has reached the $4 million mark. It was also one of the highest sales on Lake Macquarie.
The $4.25 million sale of a waterfront mansion at 148 Ross Street in Belmont in January set a new sale record for Lake Macquarie. That was eclipsed by the $6 million auction sale of an Eraring estate in August.
The previous highest sale for Valentine, according to APM data, was $3.7 million for another waterfront property in Dilkera Avenue in 2017.
McGrath Toukley's Mitchell Thomas established a new mark for Cams Wharf with the $2.1 million exchange of a five-bedroom house with a resort-like pool on 1942 square metres of waterfront reserve land at 7B Raffertys Road.

An Eraring property at 4 Short Street marketed by McGrath Toukley's Chris Smith with a guide of $1.5 million sold at auction last weekend for $1.792 million.
It attracted multiple bidders and "fierce bidding" with the eventual buyer coming from rural NSW.
Other big sales on the lake this year have included the $3.5 million suburb record result for 526 The Esplanade in Warners Bay, according to APM data.
