Valentina Shevchenko dissects favorite striking techniques ahead of UFC on ESPN+ 14

There’s no denying Valentina Shevchenko has quite the move set – and I’m not talking just about her dance moves.

Undoubtedly, Shevchenko (17-3 MMA, 6-2 UFC) will display her advanced striking arsenal during her UFC on ESPN+ 14 clash against Liz Carmouche (13-6 MMA, 5-4 UFC) on Saturday night.

UFC on ESPN+ 14 takes place Saturday at Antel Arena in Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay. The card streams on ESPN+.

It’s no secret the former professional muay Thai competitor possesses some of the flashiest and most effective striking in MMA today – and former title challenger Jessica Eye found that out the hard way. In the UFC 238 co-main event in June, Shevchenko landed a walkoff head-kick knockout that sent Eye crashing to the floor – and sent the MMA world into a frenzy.

The finish likely will be featured on every highlight reel from now until the end of time.

The Kyrgyzstani fighter makes it look so easy. But how exactly does she do it?

In a video released by the UFC, Shevchenko breaks down some of her favorite techniques in detail. In a matter of three minutes, Shevchenko dissects when and how she uses a spinning backfist, displays the best way to throw a superman punch, and explains why her spinning back kick is so effective.

Take a striking class with professor Shevchenko by watching the video above.
