Real Madrid has two wins since Zinedine Zidane was reappointed manager in mid-March, and Los Blancos will put that perfect record on the line against a resilient-looking Valencia on Wednesday.
La Liga’s titans travel to the Mestalla, but Los Che aren’t liable to roll over for Zidane’s side after going undefeated in their last 16 games across all competitions.

Although 14 points separate third-place Real from Valencia down in sixth, Marcelino Garcia Toral’s outfit has looked like one of Spain’s harder-to-break-down teams of late. A slim 1-0 victory over Sevilla on Sunday pulled them up to sixth and into a place of authority in the hunt for the last Champions League spot
Getafe currently reside in fourth, three points above Los Che, but an upset of Los Blancos on home turf would provide the ideal ammunition to possibly launch a move into La Liga’s upper crust.
Real have nothing left to play for this season in terms of silverware, but players are battling for their future careers under Zidane, which will serve as ample motivation for most.
Valencia have lacked some punch in attack at times during their unbeaten streak and have failed to score more than once in each of their last three games. Marcelino spoke highly of the fluid setup Zidane has formed so soon after his arrival at Real, per Marca:
“Zidane has won nine out of a possible 14 titles with Real Madrid, which indicates the identity of the coaching staff and the squad. It is clear that Zidane and Real Madrid have formed a perfect and victorious tandem.
“Every game Madrid play they have an obligation to win because that’s what their history says. Winning against Valencia at Mestalla is always prestigious and we hope to face the best Real Madrid, as that’s what the number of rotations against Huesca indicates.”
Real have defeated Valencia in their past two meetings and are unbeaten in their last four encounters. Los Che hasn’t got the better of their Madrid foes since a 2-1 home victory in February 2017. Zidane was at Real’s helm when they hammered Valencia 4-1 at the Mestalla in January 2018, and Wednesday’s visitors will hope the Frenchman has the keys to unlock Los Che once more.
