Valencia vs Chelsea: Prediction, tickets, team news, TV live stream, H2H, betting - Champions League preview

Chelsea know that they must give Valencia a dose of their own medicine when they travel to the Mestalla for their Champions League tie on Wednesday night.

Frank Lampard's side suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to the Spanish side on matchday one but recovered to win their next two away games against Lille and Ajax.

The Blues fought back from three goals down to rescue a 4-4 draw against the Dutch side in an eight-goal thriller at Stamford Bridge but it means they are still winless at home in Europe this season.

However, a win by two goals would guarantee their progress to the knockout stages of the competition on the head-to-head record.

Despite a narrow defeat to Manchester City at the weekend, Lampard will be hoping his young squad can build on their impressive start to the season with a win against Los Che on their own turf.

Champions League preview

Valencia vs Chelsea
Venue: Mestalla
Kick-off time: 5.55pm GMT, Wednesday, November 27

Prediction: Valencia 1-2 Chelsea

Valencia performed superbly in their first game under Albert Celades back in September but their form since then has been unpredictable at best.

They have won three of their last four home games but were soundly beaten by Ajax here in October before knocking four past Lille last time out.

But based on their away performances against Lille and Ajax, a free-scoring Chelsea side should be able to get past their leaky defence.

Team news

Frank Lampard is almost able to choose from a full squad with N'Golo Kante returning to action against Man City.

Teenage winger Callum Hudson-Odoi missed the trip on Saturday with a hamstring problem and will be a doubt to recover in time for the trip to Spain.

Midfielder Ross Barkley has also struggled with injury of late and was forced to pull out of the England squad with an ankle problem, so he is not expected to make the 18-man squad.

Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are still out but are closing in on a return to action, while Marco van Ginkel has only just returned to outside training.

Chelsea predicted lineup (4-3-3): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Alonso; Kante, Jorginho, Mount; Willian, Abraham, Pulisic.

Head to head (h2h) results and history

Chelsea have an impressive record against the Spanish side, beating Valencia three times and drawing the other three meetings.

However, they lost 1-0 at home in matchday one and know it will be tall order to take all three points from the Mestalla this season.
