Valencia's Kevin Gameiro shows off nasty black eye after scoring against Barcelona

Valencia striker Kevin Gameiro showed off his shiner on Sunday after denting Barcelona's LaLiga title hopes.

The 31-year-old would have woken up the day after with a sore head having come off worse after colliding with Gerard Pique.

Gameiro opened the scoring at Camp Nou, being slipped into the penalty area by Rodrigo Moreno, before Daniel Parejo doubled the visitors' lead eight minutes later.

But Gameiro was forced off before half-time, having asked to be removed following a clash of heads with Pique.

And who could blame him after showing off the after effects on Instagram on Sunday morning.

Valencia were unable to hold onto their two-goal advantage as Lionel Messi scored twice - with 20th and 21st league goals of the campaign - to earn a share of the spoils

Barcelona sit six points clear at the top of LaLiga having played a game more than Atletico Madrid. Valencia missed the chance to leapfrog Alaves into sixth.
