Vale of Leven walking footballers kitted out for the new year

Vale of Leven Walking Football Club are ready to kick off in style after collecting new jackets and a new match ball.

The club, formed two years ago, have gone from strength-to-strength since their foundation - and now enjoy a strong enough turnout every week to run multiple games.

They also made a winter transfer window swoop when the Lennox Herald’s own photographer Colin Garvie pulled his boots back on.

And thanks to a generous donation from The Kitchen Depot the team are looking sharp in new jackets.

They were also playing in style with a new match ball, donated by Gary McLaughlin from Walking Football Scotland who recently received a prestigious award from UEFA for his services to the sport.

After picking up the gong Gary was presented with 100 size five footballs, which he decided to share with the 97 affiliated walking football clubs throughout the country.

Sessions take place on a Monday night between 7.45pm and 9pm at OLSP and on a Thursday at the same times at Argyle Park.

Anyone looking to get involved can call Phil on 07814 540 035 or visit the club's Twitter page.
