Vakoun Bayo makes Rangers goal prediction as Celtic striker backs himself for Ibrox star turn

Confident Vakoun Bayo is convinced he will sink Rangers if he's handed his big Celtic chance at Ibrox.

The 22-year-old Ivorian striker wreaked havoc against Hearts last weekend but later had his two strikes ruled as own goals in the 3-1 Premiership win.

But the January arrival from Dunajská Streda is convinced his time is now and is backing his own abilities if Neil Lennon turns to him on derby day.

Bayo has battled a host of injuries since his arrival but is now fit and firing and is hoping the Celtic boss calls his number for the High Noon showdown.

Lennon's first spell in charge featured plenty of pre-match curveballs and Bayo insists he is primed to make a telling impact and grab his first goal in green and white.

He told the Mail on Sunday : "If Neil Lennon decides I will play then I am ready. I feel fit, my injuries are behind me and I am ready.

"It's my first experience of this game against Rangers and I want to show everybody what I can do.

"If I get a chance, I know I have to score."

Bayo earned his big Parkhead move after netting 22 goals in 32 appearances in Slovakia and the striker admits the meeting between the Glasgow rivals is miles ahead of anything he has previously experienced.

He added: "In Slovakia we had a big derby against Slovan Bratislava but there were maybe 20,000 fans there.

"Here, it is totally different. I have been waiting for this."
